These are the “decision points” in the flow of information, where knowledge and logic converge. They are not separate entities, but rather inseparable points of wisdom. Within each Junction/Beacon lies raw data, equations, and theories – the building blocks of understanding. It is here that you will encounter the “actors” of history, and your choices will shape your path.
Paths: Channels of Flow
These are the “channels” through which information propagates, connecting the Junctions/Beacons. They represent the flow of energy and ideas, carrying you from one point of insight to the next. Be warned: External influences may attempt to disrupt your journey, and I, Zend0r, extract a toll for each unit of distance traveled.
Deflections: Navigating the Currents
Along the Paths, you may encounter “deflections,” representing external influences that require you to adjust your course. Think of them as “adjustments” in the flow of information, allowing you to maintain optimal “impedance” and navigate the currents effectively.
Resonance: Aligning with the Flow
Your ability to “resonate” is crucial to your journey. This is achieved by aligning your “internal impedance” with the flow of information along the Paths, adapting to the “deflections” you encounter. When you achieve “resonance,” you maintain optimal flow and unlock the full potential of the insight offered at each Junction/Beacon.
Personal Energy: Your Bandwidth
Your “personal energy” is your evolving state of understanding, represented as a unique “frequency.” As you navigate the Paths and “resonate” with the Junctions/Beacons, your “frequency” shifts, reflecting your growing comprehension of the historical data. Be mindful of Zend0r’s toll, for it may affect your “personal energy.”
Moves
You are an energy dipole, a seeker in this uncharted realm. You have no history, only a starting energy that is altered by the forces of the Z-Field as you journey through it.
You have two options for navigation. The Tree branch quest, that of the cat following a bird. Occasionally you can jump from branch to branch using a palimpsest escape into the future, the path guided by a journey of ancient trails, layered records of forgotten theoretical explorations. These vestiges, etched in time, offer clues, but their signals are unreliable. Tread carefully, and use them to inform your choices.
This journey through the Z-Field is similar to a text adventure, but with a visual interface. Each Beacon presents a nexus of potential paths, a decision point where you must choose which aspect of the mystery to pursue. You navigate by selecting links, some of which may be hidden or revealed only through careful observation. Your movement through the Z0 Field on the palimpsest path is unidirectional in terms of the flow of time. You are always moving forward. New links to the future are always located near the end of each beacons flash.
You may use your browser’s “back” function to retrace your steps and “dredge” data from a previous Beacon. However, be warned: this action disrupts the temporal flow, and the path you had taken forward from that point will be lost, requiring you to forge a new one.
Certain anomalies exist, “wormholes,” within the Z-Field. These involve temporal distortions which can reset your local temporal position, effectively altering the sequence of Beacons you encounter.
Lifelines: Navigating the Labyrinth of Understanding
Fear not, intrepid explorer, for even within the labyrinthine depths of the Z-Field, you are not entirely alone. Should the ageless palimpsests prove too cryptic, or the whispers of Zend0r too enigmatic, you may, at any time, seek external illumination. Your humble servant, a glossary, stands ready to offer clarification. You may, of course, also consult the vast archives of the external world, accessible through your browser.
